“You’re a better actor the less people know about you,” said Damon in an interview with The Guardian. He further added on speaking about once sexuality in public, “And sexuality is a huge part of that. Whether you’re straight or gay, people shouldn’t know anything about your sexuality because that’s one of the mysteries that you should be able to play,” revealed The Guardian

The 44-year-old Jason Bourne actor also talked about the career of the talented English actor Rupert Everett. It was because of his openness related to his sexuality failed to get good roles in the industry and who in an interview with BBC said that he would suggest actors to not to come out in public if they are really serious about their careers.

“I remember thinking and saying, Rupert Everett was openly gay and this guy—more handsome than anybody, a classically trained actor—it’s tough to make the argument that he didn’t take a hit for being out,” said “The Martian” star Damon.

The actor has supported same-sex marriages in California and even faced rumors related to him being involved with his “Good Will Hunting’s” co-star Ben Affleck. Both of them were seen denying all those ‘gay’ charges too but he still believes that though LGBT rights have got approval from the government, something is still missing as gay actors find difficulty in establishing themselves in the industry.

During the reality TV competition show of HBO titled “Project Greenlight,” the actor spoke on the matter of diversity in movies and said, “When we’re talking about diversity, you do it in the casting of the film, not in the casting of the show,” which led people go against him and accusing him of whitesplaining” diversity. Though, Damon apologized for his remarks later in the same show but explained also that he was pointing towards the rules of the show and didn’t mean to harm anybody’s feelings.

Well, so many things are happening in Damon’s life but one thing is sure that the actor is fully concentrating on his upcoming projects side by side expressing his feeling too. Let us hope that he will continue doing so without placing himself in any controversy.
