“Pay what you want.” Humble Bundle proved true to its words with their successful first bundles organized by Wolfire Games. Their newest bundle? The Star Wars game collection. Read on and get ready to indulge in some galactic binge.
Here’s how it works: Bundles, made up of digital creations, are being sold online at a price determined by the buyer. Yes, they let buyers pay what they want. The sale of these bundles will then be divided between Humble Bundle, the developers and Humble Bundles’ partner charities which include Child’s Play, the American Red Cross, Charity: Water, Electronic Frontier Foundation, World Land Trust and more. One good thing about this about this is the buyer will be able to set the revenue amount between the groups. Humble Bundles made it big last 2014 by raising $50 million for charity since its 2010 launch.
“Thanks to everyone’s love and support we’ve come a very long way and we’re very thankful, and we’ve done a lot of real-world good. So I just want to say thanks to everyone.” co-founder John Graham said, as published on Rock, Paper, Shotgun.
Buyers can now what they want for the Star Wars Humble Bundle, (store price for these games is $115). It includes “Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy,” “Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic” and “Star Wars: Dark Forces.” The buyer also gets to take three more games when he pays more than the average price (current reported average is $11.29). Additional games are “Star Wars Republic Commando,” “Star Wars Battlefront II” and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.” Here’s another bonus — additional three games for $12! More games will be added in the coming days. Games can be accessed by paying $1 or more to get Steam keys. With $1.6 million earned and 144,679 units sold and counting, the “Star Wars” craze did well to the popularity of these games. According to Humble Bundle, the funds earned will support UNICEF. As usual, the buyer can choose where the payment goes — to Humble Bundle, to George Lucas and UNICEF.
