Movie producer Wyck Godfrey reveals that “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” is bigger than what fans expected! Read on for more details.
The movie franchise producer, Godfrey revealed things about the differences between the upcoming “Maze Runner” film and to the book written by James Dashner. He opened up about what the sequel could offer to the viewers that they would definitely love. So, it seems like things are a bit different from now on the way he talks.
According to his interview with Collider, Godfrey said that the movie plot is somewhat close to what readers have read in the book version. However, fans should also get their selves ready as they added a few new locations that cannot be found nor read in the book. He added that the changes that they made helped the characters to be more upbeat, those changes allowed them to be more hands-on. Besides, the author of the book himself, Dashner, was always involved when it comes to brainstorming what the team should do to make a better film. And, based on what Godfrey said, Dashner was like “‘Sh*t, I wish I would have thought of that for the book.’”
Furthermore, the producer has also said that the “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” characters are somewhat in their day 35 or 36 out of 55.
Godfrey also revealed that the sequel is much bigger than the first movie. It was since they will have multiple locations and lots of challenging scenes, unlike the first one which was very much limited, too controlled. In “The Scorch Trials,” the story will revolve around discovering the outside world. Every question that was left hanging from the first movie will be answered in this sequel.
Director Wes Ball, in his interview with Empire Online, he said that they did not approach the movie as a straight adaptation of the book. They shaped the movie to different forms, so some things in the first book end up in the movie sequel, and there are some parts from the second book that they reserving for the third movie.
