“Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” recently aired its trailer, which showed Thomas, Teresa and the rest of the Gladers entering phase two of WCKD’s experiments. Dylan O’Brien and Kaya Scodelario reveal behind-the-scenes details in filming for the “Maze Runner” sequel. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
“Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” is only a couple of months away from hitting theatres and fans are already excited to see Thomas, Teresa and the rest of the Gladers, as they face yet another trial. In the first “Maze Runner” movie, the Gladers successfully went through the maze, entered the WCKD facility and were seemingly rescued in the end. Thomas thought that escaping the maze would equate to their freedom only to learn in the sequel, based on James Dashner’s book series, that they’re in for another experiment.
Dylan O’Brien and Kaya Scodelario dished interesting behind-the-scenes details on what happened while filming “The Scorch Trials.”
“I didn’t think it would be more running, but it is, funny enough. It’s running everywhere; it’s running away from things, up sand dunes,” O’Brien told MTV News.
Kaya Scodelario, on the other hand, admitted that she was not a fan of exercising, which made all the running on set harder for her. The 23-year-old actress, however, revealed that she looks up to her co-stars O’Brien and Ki-Hong Lee, as both actors are “seasoned cardio vets.”
“The sand just makes you stand still. You’re like a cartoon. Your legs just move, but your body doesn’t. You just sink lower and lower into it,” Scodelario remarked.
It seems like O’Brien’s co-stars in “The Maze Runner” franchise are not the only ones looking up to the “Teen Wolf” actor. The 23-year-old star has been rumored to play as the new “Spider-Man” after Andrew Garfield’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” was rebooted by Sony. Tyler Posey recently revealed to People’s Choice that O’Brien was one of the best actors in the world and would make for a great Spider-Man.
“Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” premieres on Sept. 18, 2015. Stay tuned on Movie News Guide (MNG) for more updates.
