“The Mentalist” Season 6 Episode 20 “Il Tavolo Bianco” Recap:
“The Mentalist” Season 6 Episode 20 “Il Tavolo Bianco,” which was aired on May 4, 2014, began with Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) being summoned by the Court to be testified about the Red John case in front of a jury.
JANE’S COURT HEARING. Jane is still haunted by the murder of Sheriff Thomas Allister AKA Red John. He was arrested for his rival’s murder. Fisher and Lisbon were sent subpoenas to testify to the jury. The guy who made the deal, which was Abbott, was nowhere near the court case, but he was actually working on an on-going case. When he learned about Jane’s recent court visit, he said that they are going to investigate. They later found out that it was connected with the case of a gangster who’s gonna be prosecuted for murder.
On the day of his questioning, he coolly went to investigate on the jury members despite the waiver of immunity put to him. The Prosecutor told him to stop his unusual deed of deducting every member of the jury. Their investigation lead to the theory that the prosecutor named Lydia Falk, was actually bribed to pin the murder on Jane. They are now determined to show that the gangster was guilty of murder.
A GANGSTER’S MURDER CASE. Jane and his team found out that John Acardo killed a certain Elijah Macy after Elijah cut his profits. One of the mob leader’s men confessed that Acardo ordered for Macy’s murder. The case was first proven untrue as there was no physical evidence in the crime scene. Among the evidences in the headquarters, Jane thought of the wool overcoat with holes. They learned from his mother that Elijah was allergic to wool and someone else owned it.
Jane went to a club in order to try to hit Acardo’s short fuse. He flirted with Acardo’s girlfriend and that was the start of it. Jane went to the stage and told everyone about Acardo’s real identity. Acardo then went to Il Tavolo Bianco to eat and give Aurelio his “coat.” Aurelio went to meet with a guy. The coat contained a lot of money. Aurelio was sent to the office for interrogation. He immediately confessed about his role in Acardo’s business.
It was also revealed that the Prosecutor was indeed bribed by Acardo due to their text messages and a large sum of money deposited in her account.
SMUGGLING RING FIASCO. Cho and Abbott continued on the case of Daniella’s missing sister. At the place where they found her, Daniella came back to search for her sister on her own. She wasn’t in the office looking at the pictures when Jane found out about the heart shaped mark on her hand. They learned that it was the mark from the blood test administered by a nurse. It was said that it was a requirement before going to Europe. Also, they found out that the cryptic phrase “bow and arrow” that the previous girl mentioned was on the logo of a home kit for blood testing. In the end, they found out that the smugglers from the last episode were harvesting the organs of the unknowing model-wannabes.
LISBON’S DECISION. Jane has finally learned to accept her feelings about Lisbon’s move with Agent Marcus Pike (Pedro Pascal). Good thing is that Lisbon is still undecided about going away from the FBI and Jane.
