As CBS’ top rating show “How I Met Your Mother” comes to an end, the network promises to venture on a new show that is somehow similar to it but with a twist. Here comes the “How I Met Your Dad” series. The creators referred to the spinoff as the “kindred spirit” of “How I Met Your Mother.” Although the air date for its pilot episode has not been released, CBS has given a hint on how the show will run. It is basically like “How I Met Your Mother,” only from the woman’s point of view. This spinoff will not include any of the soon-to-end show’s cast.
The scoop from the Hollywood Reporter revealed that executive producers and co-creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, along with Emily Spivey of “Up All Night,” will develop the plot and produce the spinoff. In fact, the Hollywood Reporter covered that the trio has ordered for the “How I Met Your Dad” pilot episode.
Bays tweeted his excitement for the upcoming series and finally confirmed that the new show will not be set at Maclaren’s Pub.
Thomas, on the other hand, confirmed Bays’ tweet: “Corrections to the story.
Corrections to the story: We will not be introducing the new characters on #HIMYM; this will be its own, totally new show…
