Great news for Michael Schumacher fans! The racing icon is out of his coma and discharged from the hospital in Grenoble, France. He had been admitted in the hospital since a skiing accident on December 30, 2013. He had been skiing off-piste with his 14-year-old son Michael in the fancy Méribel resort when the accident took place. Read on for MNG’s Michael Schumacher health update to know more about the F1 legend’s recovery.
The German racing legend left the French hospital to go on with his extensive period of healing and treatment. Schumacher was moved to a rehab clinic in Lausanne, Switzerland near the Schumacher family’s Swiss home after a 170-day battle for survival.
Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm released a statement and thanked each and everyone associated with his treatment in Grenoble hospital. She also thanked all the well-wishers who have sent Michael all the support. She requested the public to understand that privacy is important for his complete recuperation and treatment.
Kehm’s statement was the first significant update since she said in early April 2014 that Schumacher is recovering well. Much remains vague about the health of Schumacher and the time-span and level of his upturn. Still, his fans around the globe are wishing and hoping for the best.
Dr. Tipu Aziz, a professor of neurosurgery at Oxford University’s John Radcliffe Hospital said in a statement that complete recovery would possibly take a few months but chances of recovery are bright as Schumacher was an athlete.
Schumacher earned worldwide recognition for his exceptional driving capacity. The F1 legend has a record of 91 race wins! After accomplishing incomparable seven world titles, Schumacher retired from F1 racing in 2012.
Our thoughts and best wishes go to the Schumacher family in this testing time. We at MNG wish Michael Schumacher a speedy recovery. And that’s it for MNG’s Michael Schumacher health update. For more details coming up about Michael Schumacher, stay tuned here at Movie News Guide (MNG).
