There is no doubt as to how big the “Fast & Furious” film franchise has become, ever since its first movie debuted on the silver screen, featuring Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and the now legendary Paul Walker. Now, with seven films under its belt, and another on its way, rampant speculations and rumors have flooded the internet, regarding potential settings for the upcoming “Fast 8,” as well as who among the biggest stars of today would be joining up, as the film franchise, in the wake of Paul Walker’s death, now has to “up the ante”, when it comes to the star factor in the subsequent films. Recently, Rodriguez, who also stars in the films, has come out, and has given out her own wishes and hopes with regards to what she wants to happen in the upcoming film. Rodriguez, who portrays Leticia “Letty” Ortiz Toretto, the wife of Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Vin Diesel), in the “Fast & Furious” film franchise, from the very first movie, recently chatted with Entertainment Tonight Online. It was regards to her own wishes and hopes for the upcoming “Fast 8” movie, which makes fans of the franchise wondering and hoping that some things in her “wish list” does come true.
While taking a break from playing “Call of Duty Black Ops III,” Rodriguez confirmed to the outlet with regards to what has been the buzz regarding where the film will be set.
According to her, she has heard hints and whispers that it might be set in New York City, which for her, is an interesting thing. It was since there are many things that the franchise can play with, such as motorcycle and car chases, and scenes featuring motorcycle crews such as the Hell’s Angels.
She also mentioned that it would be wonderful to have sequences in iconic places such as the Yankee’s Stadium. She followed it up with a suggestion to have festival or cross country runs.
With regards to rumors on potential new cast members, and as who she would like to work with in the upcoming film, Rodriguez stated that she would love to have actress Angelina Jolie on board as one of the films now have to “up the ante.” Paul Walker, who was part of the success story of the franchise, is no longer with them.
After being asked if she would like Helen Mirren and Cara Delivigne, who have been rumored to be joining the cast, Rodriguez stated that she would love them not to portray villains. However, t portray other females on her and Dom’s team, as she feels that most films generally tend to pit strong female characters against each other.
