The “Resident Evil” star Michelle Rodriguez is set to play a key role in “Tomboy, A Revenger’s Tale” directed by Walter Hill. “Tomboy, A Revenger’s Tale” is a gender swapping crime thriller starring Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver in the lead roles. According to Hollywood Reporter, the crime mystery is based on a story by Denis Hamill written by director Hill himself. The movies is about a brilliant assassin who is double crossed by a criminal, later finding himself in the hands of a rouge surgeon who turns him into a woman. The gangster later roams around to take revenge from the master mind opponent.
Rodriguez is set to play the role of assassin and Weaver is starred as the rouge surgeon. One of the roles was initially offered to “Slumdog Millionaire” actress Frieda Pinto but later she moved out of the project.
Rodriguez is known for her roles in large casts in the movies like “Fast & Furious” series, “Resident Evil” series and Avatar to name a few. She has been a part of big budget block buster movies, but “Tomboy, A Revenger’s Tale” will focus on Rodriguez showing off her acting skill more on the big screen.
The movie is set to start filming from this month at Vancouver. The project is being carried on by producers Said Ben Said and Michel Merkt.
Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver have earlier worked together in James Cameron directorial epic science fiction “Avatar,” however, only Sigourney Weaver will reprise her role in the movie sequel.
