“Mighty Morphin: Power Rangers” which is set to have its come back on the big screen in January 2017 made noise these past few weeks when news about the villains leaked online.
According to Heroic Hollywood reports, instead of creating new character, the Power Rangers team will still be going after one of the most fan-favorited enemy in the series, Rita Repulsa.
Many 90s kids from all over the world will surely remember Repulsa’s unusual look, horn-like hair, screeching voice, and unbending commands in the TV series which made her become one of the most unforgettable and fearsome but most-loved antagonist in Power Rangers.
There hasn’t been much revealed about how the story will flow this time, however, there were unconfirmed reports online which claim that the movie’s main villain will be none other than Rita Repulsa. Here’s how Heroic Hollywood described the female villain based on the film’s adaptation:
“A huntress. A striking, yet subtly alien-looking woman. She carries a metallic staff topped with a distinctive crescent shape,” Heroic Hollywood’s sources write. “Advances with a soldier’s confidence, guided by some sort of compass… Her staff is actually a device of immense power. She points it at the ground. Heads emerge, built layer upon layer like 3-D printing, made from the earth itself… The staff’s technology grants her the ability to create humanoid figures, soulless and robotic.”
Based on Breathe Cast, a report states that Repulsa will be introduced in the beginning of the film. There were also some news on the Red Ranger being portrayed as the character Zordon and based to the film’s adaption character, they described Zordon as:
“Though alien, he looks like a man in his 50s. Sinewy and strong, as if carved from some root that refused to die. A being of integrity and iron will.”
For now, the “Mighty Morphin: Power Rangers” movie is set to start its filming in mid 2015 and is expected to be released in January 2017.
