‘Mike & Molly’ Update: Actress Rondi Reed Announces Series’ Cancellation

Fans of the television series “Mike & Molly” will be disappointed to learn that the CBS show will not have another season after its current and sixth season. This was learned thanks to a recent social media post of co-star Rondi Reed.

The sixty-three year old Rondi Reed plays the role of Margaret “Peggy” Biggs, the mother of Officer Michael “Mike” Biggs (Billy Gardell), in the CBS sitcom.

Recently, the actress posted on Facebook that the current and sixth season of the show will be its final season.

She also stated in the post that the current season has been shortened to thirteen episodes instead of twenty-two, which the network announced last March.

She then divulged that the taping for the  January 27,  2016 episode has already been finished, and mentioned that she is not sure when the rest of the episodes will be aired.

It seems that Reed is not happy with the cancellation, especially as CBS is failing to honor its past statement regarding how many episodes the sixth season would contain.

However, according to Mail Online, the actress is very understanding, and does not want to be part of any campaign to prevent the show from going off the air. In fact, she has said that “the network has it’s reasons” for cancelling the show, and does not want to have any kind of debate to stop them.

According to Cinema Blend, the show has a lot of viewers and fans who will definitely miss the show, as it has been on the air since 2010.

The show’s cast also includes Melissa McCarthy who is now known as one of the most hilarious comedians in the industry, and was honored with a Primetime Emmy for Best Leading Actress in a Comedy in  2010 thanks to her role in the show.

It can be seen that the upcoming years will be big for her, thanks to the nominations she has already received.

According to Cinema Blend, the current season’s current ranking on Rotten Tomatoes isn’t as great as previous seasons, but they are not embarrassed by it.

Regardless of this, viewers will still be able to see McCarthy in other shows or films after “Mike & Molly” , but there is no doubt that fans will miss her portrayal of Molly Flynn.
