The Mindy Project” has a new cast member this coming season. Rhea Perlan, who was earlier announced to be joining the show as Danny Castellano’s mother, will not take her son’s new girlfriend very kindly. Uh-oh! Aside from her, Mindy Lahiri has another rival to worry about. Read on to find out the new addition to the cast.

Niecy Nash is joining the show in a recurring role as Mindy’s rival. Nash will play the role of Dr. Jean Fishman, a physician from Boston who happens to be a lesbian but a very strong, opinionated and independent woman. She will be the new chief at the hospital where Mindy and Danny work. Since Dr. Jean Fishman is Mindy’s new rival, it will definitely be not as easy as it used to (if it were) for Mindy. This is going to be interesting.

Well, it looks like this season, Mindy will not make any new friends but rivals that will make her life even more interesting and challenging at the same time. We wonder how she’s going to handle Dr. Fishman, especially Mrs. Castellano.

Before Mrs. Castellano and Dr. Fishman appear on the show, Mindy and Danny are enjoying their time in bed. We wonder how this second shot at love will go for the two. We hope things will beget better this time because they really look cute together.

It does not give away much, but we did love the part where Mindy and Danny are being playful in bed.

“The Mindy Project” premieres on FOX on Sept. 16, 2014.
