Miss Diva Noyonita Lodh, who is representing India, is one of the strong contenders at the much-awaited beauty pageant.
Only two Indian women have won the Miss Universe crown in the past. Sushmita Sen won the title in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000. Since then, India’s performance has been dreary. This year, Bangalore beauty hopes she can end India’s more than a decade-long dry spell. She has been already placed in top five at national costume competition, so the hopes are high. It has been six straight years when Asia missed out on the title. Riyo Mori from Japan, who won in 2007, was last crowned Miss Universe from Asia.
The preliminary competition was held on Jan. 21, 2015 in Miami, and 88 contestants showcased their magnificent national costumes. The organizers of the beauty pageant revealed the top five contestants: Miss Universe India, Miss Universe Argentina, Miss Universe Indonesia, Miss Universe Canada and Miss Universe Germany.

Meanwhile, India’s Noyonita Lodh costume was made by Neeta Lulla and her accessories were courtesy Tejas Jogani. With tall body (1.75m tall), chiseled cheekbone, exotic skin and great catwalk skill, Lodh is determined to win. She urged supporters to vote for her.

“Confidence is my core strategy. I am going to make sure that my confidence and training is projected in the best possible way. The only thing that will matter is my attitude and performance,” said Lodh in an interview with Indiatimes.com, when asked on her strategy to win the coveted Miss Universe.
Even Donald Trump wished Lodh to be the third Indian to win the coveted title.
