As predicted the whole act did go very well in the whole South American continent especially Columbia, as reported by Time. Ariadna Gutiérrez (Miss Columbia) and her family felt robbed and equally disgusted with how the whole situation panned out. Álvaro Arévalo, the cousin of miss Gutiérrez was fuming with the whole situation and accused of being robbed of a country’s dreams by the competition’s official. He even vent out his anger by blaming the officials of humiliating his sister in front of public. In the most awkward of situation Miss Columbia became Miss Universe for the shortest possible time.

This whole incident has not been well received in Columbia, as the South American continent takes every beauty contest very seriously. The country has a hugely successful history in these competition, as they have been the five times runner up along with winning last year’s competition with Paulina Vega. Harvey’s slip up was not the only point of rage for the Columbian as pageant judge Perez Hilton accused Miss Columbia as ‘arrogant’ and her along with other judges preferred Miss Philippines as the stand out performer.
