The contestants of Miss World 2014 pageant are gearing up for the finale. Amidst grooming sessions, they are partaking in various preliminary rounds to showcase their talent. The predictions for the top contenders have already begun. Read on for Miss World 2014 predictions.
According to a post on the pageant’s official Facebook page, Miss Australia Courtney Thorpe is leading the list of the 10 foremost contests in Miss World 2014’s People’s Choice. The hot favorite, 24-year-old beauty is a student of Mass Communications and wants to pursue a career in writing. She is born and brought up in Brisbane. Thorpe has worked as a fashion editor for an international publication. She has passion for various adventure sports, such as a wake boarding, camping, boating and horse riding. She revealed about her favorite book in an interview with Miss World — the "Diary of Anne Frank."
"My favorite book is the Diary of Anne Frank. I have lost count of how many times I have read it! I am very interested in modern history, especially WWII and love the insight that this book provides," said Courtney.
Miss Barbados Zoé Trotman is the second fan favorite. The 22-year-old is born and raised in Barbados. She studied Accounts & Economics at a university. She has worked as a sales representative and a makeup artist. Trotman likes to read and to travel and to study astronomy. She aspires to become a singer. Trotman’s favorite composer is Tchaikovsky.
“Barbados is a unique little paradise, filled with a potpourri of exciting activity, a diverse culture and warm people,” said Trotman in an interview with Miss World.
The third hot favorite of the pageant is Miss Haiti Carolyn Desert, the 25-year-old beauty with the height of 171 cm. she is a restaurateur by profession. Desert is born and raised in Haiti. She own a Mexican restaurant, which she opened last year. She is also working as a model. She aspires to open up more restaurants, empower women around the world, and work on international modeling campaigns. She also likes to write and watch documentaries. She is a passionate philanthropist.
“Haiti is the land of Freedom. Our country is beautiful, and so are the people,” said Desert in an interview with Miss World.
Meanwhile, Miss India Koyal Rana is the fourth hot favorite contestant. The 21-year-old beauty hails from Jaipur. She is the founder of an NGO Moksha foundation. She has studied finance at Harvard University. She aspires to bring changes in the national policies. Koyal is a fitness freak and indulge in sports like swimming and badminton. She has already won the World Designer Fashion Award, donning a creation by Falguni and Shane Peacock.
Miss Nepal Subin Limbu is on the fifth place on the fan-favorite list. She is born and raised in Dharan. The 23-year-old is still a student with a degree in Business Administration. She aspires to become an entrepreneur and wants to start her own business after graduation. She likes gardening, and her hobbies include "playing basketball, table tennis and learning new words." Kid Rock and Mumford & Sons are some of her favorite artists. She loves spicy food, especially tacos and spicy Mexican pizza.
“Besides Mt. Everest, Nepal is one of the happiest countries in the world, ”said Limbu.
Other contestants who have made to the list of top 1o favorites on the Miss World People's Choice include: Netherlands, Philippines, South Africa, Tanzania and Thailand .
