Dwayne Johnson would be portrayed as Maui, the Demigod, in the 2016 Disney animated film “Moana.” Read on to know more details.
According to SlashFilm, Johnson recently revealed that he would starring in the film “Moana,” though he already announced in April that he would act in the Disney Animated film. Indeed, the actor disclosed during the D23 Expo that he would play the role of the Demigod named Maui in the film.
The source further reported that “Moana” was one among the films that were launched and introduced by Disney at the Anaheim Convention Center, during the D23 Expo. During the Expo, two clippings featuring the film’s characters, including Maui, were shown.
The source also added that Johnson is currently starring in “Baywatch” film adaptation.
CinemaBlend reported that the revealed clip discussed history or legend of the Demigod Maui. The source further added that the character Maui, shown as a dark skinned and brown haired Demigod, would be covered with tattoos representing his past adventures. In the film “Moana,” Maui would pull the Sun from the sky and the “great islands from beneath the sea” using his “great hook.” The hook that Maui has is as tall as he is.
It was also revealed that the character Moana would play a major role in the film as she would be helping the Demigod who is said to be “trapped between two realms” – the “gods and the human world.”
KpopStarz reported that Osnat Shrurer would be producer of “Moana,” and John Musker & Ron Clements would be the directors.
As per the clippings and plot revealed by the sources, the 2016 animation film “Moana” seems to be very interesting. However, if you are excited to watch the film soon, stay calm as the release date of the film is yet to be announced.
