Before we proceed to the cast’s thoughts about the wedding finale, we will give you a brief recap first. Read of for MNG’s “Modern Family” featuring “The Wedding” finale.

Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) were engaged at the start of “Modern Family” Season 5. When did that happen? While they were fixing a flat tire. Yes, folks. Didn’t we mention that the proposal was mutual? Anyway, as the season went on, we watched how Jay was ashamed of telling his friends that his son is marrying another man. Moreover, what could probably get worse than a wildfire spreading near your wedding ceremony venue?

Gay marriage, though legal in some countries, is still an issue for some. Chris Lloyd, co-creator of the show, discussed with Variety how he developed the plot of the wedding when gay marriage was legalized in California.

“Let’s have them talk about should they do this and see where that takes us, see how the family responds, see if there may be stories and arguments over wedding venues or wedding planners and all of those things that, frankly, straight couples go through all the time. But it really came about because it would be glaring to not address it once it became legal,” said Lloyd to Variety.

Ed O’Neill, on the other hand, hoped that the people could relate with the “Modern Family Season 5 finale. The actor also discussed about going through the part of understanding and, finally, accepting his son, Mitch, as well as his marriage to another man.

Most of the “Modern Family” cast admitted that they were emotional during the shoot. Nolan Gould and Sarah Hyland even confessed that they were in tears. Julie Bowen expressed how meaningful this episode is to her because of the emotions she sees in Cam and Mitch as they exchange their “I Dos” and kiss.

This is surely a season finale to watch out for. We have a lot of things to see for ourselves too, such as the exchange of vows, the rings, their first kiss as a married couple and the list goes on. You know there is only one way to find out about it, and that is to watch “Modern Family” Season 5 Episode 24 “The Wedding (Part 2)” on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
