Movies to Scare You at Night

Some moviegoers are uninterested with the movies showing this weekend. Ted is about a slacker who can’t be motivated to get off his couch. Mark Wahlberg stars as the slacker with a stuffed teddy bear that can talk as his best buddy. Scare

Then there’s Magic Mike, which is a fictionalized biopic of the early career of Channing Tatum, who began his raise to stardom as a male stripper. People who have already seen the movie said that it was not bad, especially if you want to see a lot of Channing Tatum.

If you want to watch movies this weekend, why not rent or stream a horror flick. There are several good ones and if you don’t have one in mind, then check out the following movies below.

First is Insidious, which is directed by the same guy who made Saw, James Wan. It is about a suburban family that moves away from a haunted house but only to find out that it was not the house that was haunted. It received positive reviews when it was released last year even if it was made with a low budget.

Then there’s Troll Hunter, which is a horror movie from Norway. This is a found-footage thriller about a couple of journalism students who found a guy who hunts trolls in the Norwegian outback. While on paper it looks stupid but it turns out to be interesting, scary, emotional, and funny. It is funny intentionally and unintentionally.

Then there’s The Innkeepers, which is about the last days of the Yankee Peddler Inn. It was a nineteenth century hotel and its two remaining employees wanted to prove whether the urban legend about the restless of Madeleine O’Malley was true or not. The acting is spot on and the creepy factor is pretty much over the top. But its ending could have been better.
