The MTV European Music Awards (EMA) is MTV’s universal commemoration of the best stars in music. The ceremony honor artists from around the globe and across many genres.  MTV has unraveled the nominees for the Best US, Canada, and UK & Ireland Act including he Best Act nominees Calvin Harris, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and One Direction for UK and Ireland.  Keep reading on to learn more about the music extravaganza.

MTV EMA will take place at Glasgow’s state-of-the-art venue the SSE Hydro on Sunday Nov. 9, 2014, at 9pm.  This will be the first time Glasgow plays host to the EMA. The ceremony will be broadcast live on MTV Europe, MTV Live HD and most of the international MTV channels as well as online. The ceremony started as a stand-in to the American MTV Video Music Awards.  But today the MTV Europe Music Awards is a well-liked celebration of what MTV worldwide audience regard as the superlative in music.

The wild card Twitter vote is open until September 14 at 10: 59am. All 2014 MTV EMA nominees will be announced and voting will open on September 16, 2014 at 11am.Keep in mind to tweet #MTVEMA and one of the above artist’s hashtags for your vote to add up to the final nomination.

Several regions from all over the world in approximately hundred of categories, artists will compete for EMA awards.  There is no wild card nominee for Vietnam. Vietnam’s local nominee will be announced on Sept. 16.  The artist with the most hashtag mentions will become an authentic addition to the Best Southeast Asia Act category.

The wild card Twitter vote is open until Monday, Sept. 15. All 2014 MTV EMA nominees, including the wildcard contender will be announced on September 16. The chase will formally set up once the final nominee from wildcard contenders is selected after Sept. 16.
