Natalie Portman has recently disclosed that while filming for Black Swan, the director used to plot so that she and Mila Kunis would fight in real. Natalie Portman is currently promoting her new film, Tale of Love and Darkness.
Natalie Portman said that during the time when they were shooting for Black Swan, she would practice for some 16 hours a day. Director Darren Aronofsky also used to help them to perform their roles better.
According to her, Aronofsky would pit her and the Bad Moms actress, Mila Kunis against each other. The objective, of course, was to bring authenticity in their on-screen rivalry.
35-year-old Portman has revealed that the director would tell her that Kunis is so well with her stuff and is doing better than her. The actress divulged that the director would say those things to her and Mila Kunis to make them feel jealous of each other.
However, it seems that Aronofsky failed to succeed. Portman and Kunis remained very friendly with each other while the filming was underway.
Meanwhile, Natalie Portman has made her directorial debut with the movie, Tale of Love and Darkness. She also has a role in the film, reports Vogue.
The actress-turned-director was discovered at a very young age. She was only 9 years old when a scout for Revlon spotted her in a pizza parlor and approached her.
Portman then made her film debut with Léon: The Professional in 1994. She has also lately shared her experience working in the film. She has said that she was only 11 then and did not know what all she was doing. The thespian also added that she was very free and open, and not at all self-conscious.
Natalie Portman is a graduate in psychology from Harvard University. She has always been a bookworm kind of person. No doubt, her directorial venture would impress her fans.
