Developments about the “The Last of Us 2” have been allegedly hinted by one of Naughty Dog’s game writer, Josh Scherr. But did he really confirm “The Last of Us” sequel? Or was he just mentioning another game title? Read on for more details.
Scherr was pointing to one of his colleagues in the company, Eric Baldwin, as the one responsible for all the facial animations in the “Unchartered” series as well as other games.
It was during this time that he accidentally mentioned, via a video by YouTube user Jeronimo PW, a certain “first The Last of Us,” which seemed to imply that there could be a second “The Last of Us.”
Conscious that he just had let the cat out of the bag, Scherr hoped that the audience would forget it. However, it seemed it was too late, with him eventually saying, “Uh, did I say the first The Last of Us? The first the Last of Us. Uh, The Last of Us, the first The Last of Us.”
Eric Baldwin was seen laughing, who seemed to notice that Scherr indeed dished the development of “The Last of Us 2.”
Various news publication as well as fans of the famous video game immediately noted Sherr’s line, which seemed to be a clue that Naughty Dog, Inc. was developing the sequel under everyone’s radar.
Although possible that Josh Scherr might be mentioning other game titles of “The Last of Us” series such as “Left Behind” and other PlayStation 4 remastered editions, The Independent still thought that the awkwardness and lack of clarification in the conversation suggested that it isn’t.
If it isn’t, no doubt this is good news to fans who have been waiting for the sequel to come out. However, gamers might need to wait a little bit longer because Naughty Dog’s next game release is “Unchartered 4,” which is on March 2016.
But since Naughty Dog, Inc. is yet to issue an official statement, readers are reminded to take this with a grain of salt.
