Carlos Boozer the veteran power-forward of the Los Angeles Lakers dished-out a rock-solid performance for the 2014-2015 NBA season. In spite of an average of 11.8 points per game, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game the former Duke University Blue Devil standout is now a shell of his former self. Read on for more details.
According to Sports World Report, three teams are likely to pick up the two-time NBA All-Star for the minimum despite the 6’9 Germany-born ballplayer showcasing quite a drop in his rebounding prowess.
Boozer can nevertheless be the run-to-guy as the fourth big man on the team either for the Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Philadelphia 76ers. Boozer though in his 13 years playing for Cleveland Cavaliers, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers has managed to boast of scoring in double in each of his playing seasons. The only tricky involvement with his free agency is the 2001 NCAA champion will be turning 34 just a month prior to the start of the NBA season.
Despite such a court roadblock, his old-timer presence especially in the locker room could be an enviable addition to a young team especially as Boozer is still a threat in the midrange and can still put numbers in the shaded area.
Anthony Bennett though is on a different side of the spectrum as he calls the Minnesota Timberwolves his most recent home. The former 2013 NO.1 Draft Pick has become a journeyman marred with a sub par performance. It was ever since he stepped on the parquet floor of the Quickens Loan Arena as a Cleveland Cavalier.
The hefty 6’8 power forward though is once again trying his luck as this season will be his make it or break it in the NBA. In a previous report from this website, we have mentioned that Bennett, who hails from Canada, may be having a homecoming of his own anytime soon. In a report from Yahoo Sports, the former UNLV star has trekked up north as he signed with the Toronto Raptors for a one-year deal contract.
Dwane Casey who has called the shots on the sideline for the past five years for the Raptors is ecstatic with their newest addition.
“He’s a super young man and a young talent. He’s only 22 years old and it was a good situation for us to bring him back”.
