The recent NBA trade rumors suggested that the Chicago Bulls’ center Joakim Noah would move to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Read on to know more details about the possibility of Noah to reunite with the Thunder’s head coach Billy Donovan, his former Florida Gators coach.
According to China Topix, there have been rumors that the 30-year-old Joakim Noah has been unhappy with the Bulls as Fred Hoiberg, the head coach of the team, downgraded him to the bench in favor of Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic.
Noah’s unhappiness with Hoiberg’s decision has ignited the rumors that the Bulls center could be moving to the Thunder to reunite with Donovan, his former head coach at the Gators, reported YIBADA.
Earlier reports pointed out that Noah preferred to “come off the bench with Taj Gibson,” with whom he “plays better” than with Mirotic or Gasol. On the contrary, based on a report from Yahoo Sports, Noah refused to be the “Bulls’ backup center.” He also said that he would do “what’s best for the team,” but do not like coming off the bench. He even disclosed that playing with Gasol does not help in bringing out the best in him.
The Bull’s head coach Hoiberg admitted, “It’s the decision that we came up with,” even though Noah does not want to come off the bench.
Noah admitted that his former Florida Gators coach Donovan was the “best coach” he has ever had, reported ESPN. The player also revealed that he loves Donovan as a “father figure,” and added that his career time with Donovan was “the best time” of his life.
