Heavy investments have been made by the New York Knicks in the past years as far as strengthening their frontline is concerned. However, if the team really wants to perform better, it is high time that they pay attention to their guard line.
Knicks have been depending on Jose Calderon till date to fulfill their quarterbacking needs. However, somehow they are lacking in something. After all, Calderon may not be the perfect player for driving to the basket. That‘s what the team needs badly right now.
Apart from Calderon, other guards such as Jerian Grant and Sasha Vujacic have been putting their best for boosting the backcourt. But, it looks like that their efforts are not adequate. That perhaps makes it more pertinent for the team’s management to try out some other guards who may be available in the market.
The New York Knicks need qualities like backcourt, stability and consistency at the moment and they are sadly missing at the moment. They must address all these issues if they want to reach the playoffs of the NBA.
According to NBA Trade rumors, Knicks might be considering the name of Brendon Jennings who is currently in the Detroit Pistons.
But Jennings, 26, has just recovered from an injury so the Knicks might like to observe whether he has recovered properly from that.
According to a report by Christian Today, the point guard has the necessary skills that might be needed by the Knicks. The player can pick up the game’s pace, create situations, and shoot well.
At present, he could be dispensable as this is his final year of the 3 years and 24 million dollar contract he has with the Pistons, as reported by New York Post.
According to NBA Trade rumors, Knicks are likely to deal Calderon for Jennings.
