According to Sports Illustrated, Derrick Rose suffered right knee injury with meniscus tear in February. Indeed, he was injured in the same knee in the previous season also. He also underwent surgery after the second injury.
Rose’s knee injury plagued him throughout the 2014-15 season, and it shook the future of the Bulls to the core. In fact, his latest knee injury made his stay with the Bull uncertain.
Based on a report from News Briefs, it seems that the Bull’s point guard could be traded to Los Angeles Lakers. The source also reported that Rose would fit in pretty good as a Lakers.
However, trading Rose would not be a simple one since the point guard was named as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Bulls.
Even a multi-player deal considering Bull’s Rose to the LA Lakers in exchange of Jordan Clarkson, Nick Young, and Lou Williams, might not work well. The Lakers might not wish to give up the three potential and budding talents for Rose who is hardly healthy now. The source further added that this multi-player deal is just a rumor.
There are chances that the Lakers could be interested to get Derrick Rose in exchange of for their young core. But, the Bulls would expect a player of equal value for their highly prized Rose. Hence, as of now, it seems that Rose trading is impossible. However, Rose would certainly leave Chicago Bulls either through trade, or the completion of his contract in 2017.
