NBA trade rumors today are raging around the eventual fate of Chicago Bulls player Joakim Noah, who may soon don a different jersey due to changes in his performance and the shifts in the preferences of his team.
Joakim Noah, as NBA fans very well know, used to be untouchable. He was usually part of the Chicago Bulls’ starting five, his performance aligning well with the team’s aggressive and offensive character. Recently, however, two major changes have made a Joakim Noah trade a possibility: the new Bulls coach and Noah’s declining performance in games.
According to Pippen Ain’t Easy, Joakim Noah’s declining game performance is due to his age and, consequently, his lack of energy. Such traits are a no-no with the Bulls’ strong offensive tactic. Recently, Nikola and Pau Gasol have taken over Noah’s old role in the team, leaving the latter with less playing time on the court. Add to these is Noah’s injury—this season alone made that weakness so obvious. However, Noah is still strong enough of a major player for other teams to see him as valuable, which is why the Chicago Bulls may be seriously considering to trade him while Noah is still valuable.
NBA trade rumors are swirling around Noah’s potential landing spots, specifically the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers. The Celtics sees this as a rare chance to get a star player in its roster. After all, Noah was among the longest playing members of the Bulls’ team. The Celtics may try to snag him in the hope of Noah getting back in shape and returning to his old power and form.
Meanwhile the Indiana Pacers may also want Noah in their roster simply because of their lack of power in the frontline. This could be possible as the Bulls could still improve their backcourt with the help of Monta Ellis or Rodney Stuckey.
