Kevin Love, power forward of the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been in the NBA trade rumors once again. It is expected that he could be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers before the trade deadline. Read on for more details.
Sports Illustrated listed four NBA players that could be traded before the deadline, on November 13. Cleveland Cavaliers’ All-Star power forward Kevin Love, Sacramento Kings’ Center DeMarcus Cousins, Indiana Pacers’ shooting guard Paul George, and Miami Heat’s power forward Chris Bosh were included in the list.
Well, what could be the reason why the Cavaliers might consider trading Love, letting him go for this season? Cavaliers’ owner Dan Gilbert considers the three-time All-Star’s inability to “fit in” with the team as the main reason for trading him. Moreover, Gilbert finds the Kevin Love trading much easier as his position would be filled by re-signing of Tristan Thompson, the team’s another highly-paid power forward who could go well with their small forward LeBron James.
As David Blatt chooses for a “faster and smaller lineup on the floor,” Love offers limited play while James plays more frequently, based on a report from CHINA TOPIX. This trend makes Love as the odd man out of the team.
NBA rumors suggested that the Cavaliers’ might trade Love to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for the starting center players Julius Randle and Roy Hibbert.
However, it seems that this trade would not be possible right now, as Love could not be traded until December 14 of this year, and Hibbert’s contract expires only next summer. On the other hand, if the Kevin Love trade happens in exchange for Randle, the Lakers might actually be risking a lot. The trade would be amazing one for the Cleveland Cavaliers if they get Hibbert and Randle in exchange for Love.
