Is Dion Waiters, the shooting guard of the Oklahoma City Thunder, moving out of the team to play for the Philadelphia 76ers? The recent NBA trade rumors suggested so. Read on for more details.
According to K-pop Starz, it seems that the Oklahoma City Thunder is not ready to extend the contract of their shooting guard Dion Waiters. Indeed, the team might let him move away “for nothing.”
It seems that the OKC Thunder is ready to lose Waiters as well as the player is ready to leave the team. The shooting guard is actually not happy with the team as he is not been provided with the desired role with the Thunder after being traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers during the last NBA season. He actually does not like coming off the bench and is presently averaging 11 ppg and 3.6 rpg.
However, where would the young shooting guard move in case he leaves the Thunder? Based on reports from Philly.com, Waiters is very much interested in playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, his hometown team.
“He wants to come home,” reported Philly.com.
Waiters feel that he could be the right shooting guard for the 76ers. It seems that the 76ers would not have any problem in adding Waiters to their roster as they have ample cap space.
The source further added that there is a high possibility for Waiters to get a “very lucrative” contract with the 76ers. However, there is no guarantee that the player would get the deserving max contract that he needs.
Will Dion Waiters move from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Philadelphia 76ers before the NBA season begins? Let us catch your thoughts in the comments section.
