It seems that the Los Angeles Clippers are interested in trading their small forward Josh Smith. Reports also suggested that the team could also consider trading their small forward Lance Stephenson. Is any team interested with the two small forward players?
According to Bleacher Report, it is not that easy for the Los Angeles Clippers to trade Josh Smith. Indeed, they would have a “hard time trading” the small forward.
“There is not much of a market for them (Smith and Stephenson). They are buyout candidates,” stated one of the NBA exec, reported the source. Moreover, it seems that the two small forward players of the Clippers are having “trouble fitting in” with the team, as per the comments made by another league official.
Moreover, reports revealed that the Clippers are worried that trading either Smith or Stephenson might upset the team’s chemistry built at this point.
Based on YIBADA, Smith had a “shouting match with an anonymous Clippers bench tactician.” Hence, it is doubtful whether any team could come forward to show interest in the deal connecting Smith, in spite of his affordable salary.
Sports World Report reported that the Dallas Mavericks was interested with Smith last summer as a potential backup for Dirk Nowitzki. The source also reported that Smith’s versatility would be an added advantage to the Mavericks’ roster and could give them “another needed boost.”
However, will the Mavericks be still interested with Smith, as they wanted to acquire him last summer? It is obviously doubtful because of the recent happenings in the Clippers. The Mavericks might not be ready to take the risk of trading for Smith.
