The recent NBA trade rumors suggested that the Los Angeles Lakers are trading Nick Young and Ryan Kelly in exchange for Miles Plumlee and O. J. Mayo of Milwaukee Bucks, as they plan to clear cap-space for next year’s free agency.
According to YIBADA, the Los Angeles Lakers feel the need to rebuild their team as Kobe Bryant is about to end his career with the Lakers at the end of the season. As a first step of their plan, the Lakers would do some changes to clear up as much cap-space as possible for free agency.
The Lakers’ Nick Young has been in the NBA trade rumors from last season. According to Mike Ortiz of DYST Now, the Lakers are now prepared to trade the shooting guard.
Even though Young has an average score of 9.2 points per game when playing for just 19.9 minutes, he would definitely be a good scorer “off the bench for any team,” when provided more time to play. It seems that Swaggy P has an “all-time high” trade value, based on Lake Show Life.
The rumors pointed out that the LA Lakers would give Nick Young and Ryan Kelly in exchange for O. J. Mayo and Miles Plumlee of the Bucks. It seems that Mayo and Plumlee does not have appreciable trade value due to their low performance and limited playing time. However, their expiring contracts attract the Lakers who are trying to clear their cap-space.
The Lakers find this deal to be exciting as they have many star players, and are planning to clear their cap-space as much as possible to pursue top talents for regaining their NBA glory.
