Carmelo Anthony is once again on the headlines of the NBA trade rumors. Is the New York Knicks trading the power forward to the New Orleans Pelicans? Read on to know more details.
According to KDrama Stars, Carmelo Anthony proves to be one of the most excellent scorers regardless of his expensive contract. Hence, there is no surprise that several teams would want him, however for the right price.
SportsBlog reported that the New Orleans Pelicans would be the perfect team for him. With the presence of Carmelo, the team could become “instant contenders.” Both Carmelo and their future MVP Anthony Davis could improve the team much better. Moreover, Carmelo would have the opportunity to win multiple rings if he is in the Pelicans.
Will the Knicks’ Anthony trade happen soon? It seems that the Pelicans do not have the right roster to make a straight move with the Knicks for Anthony. Hence, the trade might be possible with another team. However, Anthony’s $124 million contract with the Knicks might create complications. His deal with the Knicks happens to be a “no-trade clause.”
Anthony told ESPN that he does not have any plans to move away from the Knicks at present, when asked whether he would insist for a trade if the team continues to suck.
The power forward player has been in everybody’s trade this offseason. However, he revealed that the rumors are not true, and that it seems to be “stupid” even though it was “OK” initially. He also feels fed up of answering people about the rumors. In fact, he feels overwhelmed at times.
Hence, it can be concluded that the New York Knicks would not consider trading Carmelo Anthony to the New Orleans Pelicans at present.
