Will it be Nick Young or Lou Williams to fill up the most crucial position of the Los Angeles Lakers? Indeed, this has been the primary focus of discussion in the NBA trade rumors.
According to ENTERTAINMENT, Los Angeles Lakers have been considering to fill their shooting guard/small forward position. Chances are there that this position could be for either Nick Young or Lou Williams.
In fact, both the players have an equal chance for the position. However, Williams seems to have a bit of high chance. Young has proved his talent as a starter while the shooting guard Kobe Bryant was out. Now the situation has changed as Bryant is back. While “Williams being a back-up” to D’Angelo Russell or Jordan Clarkson on the guard position, “Bryant takes small forward.”
NBA trade rumors also suggested that the Lakers have chosen to trade Young during this off-season because of his large salary. Based on a report from the Sports World, Lakers would be free from Young’s four-year contract that would expire in 2018, if they trade Young.
However, Young aims at focusing towards making game better. In an interview with InsideSoCal.com, the player expressed that the whole Lakers team has “something to prove.” He further added that he has set his mind right to play better games. He also feels good and enjoys playing the game.
Williams, who is trying to put his best efforts at the training camp of the team, does not like people ditching him and Young, as both of them are playing for the same team – the Los Angeles Lakers. In his interview with the same source, the player said that both he and Young have similar games, and that both of them want to score the basketball. Williams also added that he prefers to “play team basketball” while on the court.
Will the Los Angeles Lakers fill Nick Young or Lou Williams for the shooting guard/small forward position? Let us wait and watch.
