Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry and Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio are in the latest NBA trade rumors. Read on for more details.
According to YIBADA, Kyle Lowry and Ricky Rubio could be traded. Both the point guards have shown good performance at the beginning of the season.
Lowry did his best to improve in the offseason, and indeed, he showed good results. However, the Toronto Raptors is considering Lowry as a trade option, as the team has “leveled out” and has attained “their peak,” based on Bleacher Report.
Masai Ujiri, the General Manager of the Raptors, aims for a “fair value trade.” According to him, the best option for the team would be to trade Lowry to the Timberwolves in exchange for Rubio. Also, Ujiri could demand “even future protected picks,” reported the source.
Sir Charles In Charge, a general NBA fan site, also reported that Rubio would be a “better fit for the Raptors.” Moreover, Rubio could be helpful for DeMar DeRozan and Terrence Ross of the Raptors.
According to Wikipedia entry, Rubio has won many personal awards such as 2009 Spanish ACB League Defensive Player of the Year, 2010 Euroleague Rising Star, 2010 Most Spectacular Player, 2011–12 NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month – December and January.
Lowry has won many awards and achievements such as 2015 NBA All-Star, NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month of December 2014, NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week in 2014.
Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors could be a better option for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and could help develop the team well. However, Rubio, one of the better point guards in the NBA, could be traded only if the Timberwolves wishes to release him from the team.
