According to the official Web site of “A to Z,” it is produced by Warner Brothers Television and Le Train Train. Moreover, the storyline is developed by Rashida Jones, Ben Queen and Will McCormack, who are also executive producers. “A to Z” Synopsis:
“A to Z” is about a young couple who has differing views about things, especially on love. Andrew is a romantic who dreams of finding “the one.” Actually, he already has an idea of his “one.” He has seen her in a concert about two years ago wearing a silver dress. Could it be Zelda?
Meanwhile, Zelda is an opinionated woman, who, unlike Andrew, does not believe in destiny. She works as a lawyer in a public-advocacy firm and is raised by a hippie mom. Zelda is into online dating.
Andrew and Zelda’s paths will cross when a computer malfunction sends Zelda a mismatch. The lawyer is asked for an interview at the online dating service where Andrew works. This is where it will all start for the couple. Andrew thinks that their meeting is fate, and that Zelda is the girl in the silver dress.
Why do we get the feeling that “A to Z” is a little like “How I Met Your Mother”? You see, upon reading the show’s official synopsis, Andrew somehow mirrors Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor). He is into meeting “the one.” Sounds like Ted, right? As for Zelda, we see in her a mix of Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Tracy a.k.a “The Mother.” Robin is a strong, opinionated woman, who, in one hell of a twist in the “How I Met Your Mother” series finale, ends up with Ted. Tracy, on the other hand, is the woman who Ted has been waiting for all along and the mother of his children.
That’s it for the “A to Z” preview. NBC’s “A to Z” stars Cristin Milioti and Ben Feldman. The pilot episode will air by Fall 2014. What do you think? Is it “How I Met Your Mother” only in a different network? You be the judge!
