NCIS: Los Angeles” Season 6 Episode 18 “Fighting Shadows” aired last Monday, Mar. 23, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. on CBS. In this episode, the entire team helped the FBI race against time to figure out the target of a possible bombing by a vengeful uncle after the Navy’s explosives were used in an FBI sting operation. Read on to learn more about this episode.

The episode began with a successful sting operation conducted under the careful watch of FBI Agent Conway (Christina Cox). However, just as everything had been secured, the van with the C4 in it exploded.

Before they called into the office, Los Angeles Police Department Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and NCIS Special Agent Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) noticed that a woman with no license plates had been taking pictures of them.

At the operations center, they were informed that they were cooperating with the FBI in this investigation, as the Navy’s own C4 was used. Operations Manager Henrietta “Hetty” Lange (Linda Hunt) then surprised everyone by shuffling the partners. NCIS Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and Kensi were to check out the crime scene. On the other hand, Deeks and NCIS Special Agent G Callen (Chris O’ Donnell) went to the Navy SEAL’s Beach Naval Weapons Station to see if the C4 given to them was defective. However, they discovered that it had been fine. During this time, G revealed to Deeks that everyone knew that he and Kensi were together.

At the crime scene, Sam realized that since the C4 had been intact, that the bomb had been set off by a remote detonator. As they went up to where the bomber might have placed himself, Sam revealed to Kensi that everyone knew about her and Deeks. He warned her to be careful, especially as kids usually came without warning. There, they discovered a watch stopped at 5:37 p.m. They also realized that whoever had done it was sending a message.

Before going to the FBI to speak to Dogan Malki (Aaron Ramzi), one of those arrested this morning, Deeks walked in on Hetty and Intelligence Analyst Nell Jones (Renee Felice Smith. He was looking at a picture of the woman he had seen in the morning. She then told him that he and Kensi shouldn’t be seen together for now.

At the FBI Task Force, they leveraged Malki enough to get him to reveal that he had had the van. It had the bomb in it, fixed a few days ago at a particular auto repair shop. Kensi and Sam found the man who claimed responsibility for it, and for another attack that would be happening that day- Vakeel Shah (David Diaan).

At the boat shed, they discovered that his nephew, Naveed (Julien Ari) had been arrested for attempting to bomb himself and his school. However, in the interrogation, he told them that Naveed had been coerced to become a terrorist. He also told them that he was going to teach the United States a lesson by using one of their own plans. They were used in countless of sting operations, in order to carry out an attack at 5:37 p.m., the time specified on the watch that he had given his nephew. However, he told them that this wasn’t revenge.

Later, they discovered that the FBI’s documents had been leaked due to data breach that had recently occurred.

Meanwhile, before Deeks left to question Naveed, he informed Kensi that Hetty was worried and that she was currently looking into it. However, Kensi, on the way back to the auto repair shop was tailed by Los Angeles Police Department Detective Jacqueline Rivera (Alexandra Barretto), whom she confronted. River told her that she was from Internal Affairs, and hinted that she was investigating Deeks.

However, at the prison, Deeks didn’t get much out of Naveed, except for the fact that he wanted to help his uncle carry out the attack.

Kensi was at the auto repair shop when she realized that the shop’s flatbed tow truck was missing.  Nell and Technical Operator Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) discovered that two teenage brothers were driving it with their car which was full of explosives.

At the FBI Task Force building, Sam and Conway evacuated the building. Thanks to Kensi’s driving skills, Sam managed to get onto the flatbed truck, and convinced the brothers to stop.

Meanwhile, G made Shah realize that this entire thing had been his way of seeking revenge for his nephew. He and told him that the teenage boys whom he had coerced would go to jail thanks to him.

Afterwards, Hetty confronted Deeks and Kensi. She told them that Internal Affairs had opened an investigation into him and would use Kensi, and everything else against him. However, she reassured him that she would protect them both.
