“NCIS: New Orleans” Season 2 Episode 8 “Confluence” aired on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 9:00 PM on NBC. In this episode, NCIS Special Agent Dwayne “King” Pride (Scott Bakula) and NCIS Agent Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant) went on a road trip to Texas to escort the last remaining witness who could testify against an international weapons dealer named Hugo Garza (Alex Fernandez). However, along the way, they discovered that more sinister forces were at play.  Read on only to learn more about this episode.

The episode began with NCIS Special Agent Dwayne “King” Pride (Scott Bakula) calling up Don Lambert (Johnny Sneed), the former accountant to international weapons dealer Hugo Garza (Alex Fernandez), who had flipped on Garza, and who was currently their biggest witness against Garza, whose trial was to happen in a few hours. However, the trial had to be postponed after Don’s car blew up, which instantly killed him.

They then discovered that the car that had driven away calmly from the bomb scene when it went off, abandoned under a levy as it had hit a truck.

Upon arriving there, they discovered that the driver had been injured but escaped, that there were a lot of bees outside on the car itself, and they also found a picture of Don with his former accounting firm partner, Marc Maslow (Jay Thomas), who was currently serving out his sentence in a prison in Texas, and was currently the only person who could testify now against Garza. Because of this, and the timing of everything, Pride began to suspect that Garza was behind all of this, and confronted him, but got nothing out of him.

Back at the squad room, Assistant United States Attorney Karen Izzo (Sharon Conley) informed Pride that Maslow had agreed to testify if Pride picked him up himself. Pride then brought NCIS Agent Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant) with him, after telling her that due to Maslow’s eccentricities, they would be driving back home from Texas.

On the way, Pride confronted her about the fact that she had been staking out a drug den that the DEA had also been staking out. Pride then deduced that one of her old friends, Marion Watkins, was a part of the operation and told her that she should tell him these things so that there would be no problem with other agencies.

As soon as they got to the prison, Maslow asked Pride to apologize to him for picking Don over him before he agreed to testify, which Pride did.

Back in New Orleans, they discovered that the car had been registered to a dead man named Frank Jamison, and Forensic Scientist Sebastian Lund (Rob Kerkovich) discovered that the bees that they found could only be found in a secluded monastery near the city.

However, upon reaching the monastery, NCIS Special Agent Meredith “Merri” Brody (Zoe McLellan) and NCIS Special Agent Christopher “Chris” La Salle (Lucas Black) discovered that Vivienne Lambert (Kirsten Nelson) had been waiting for their guy, Frank. After discovering that Frank had been her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsee, the two realized that she had been targeted by this man from the get go.

Later, they discovered that he had killed himself, and that his real name was Ethan Greer, who had absolutely no ties to Garza.

After Sebastian discovered the particular batch that the explosives used in the car bomb were from, Brody discovered that that batch had been used by the militia that Zed Hastings (Patrick Brennan) was part of, which meant that the entire thing had been an elaborate scheme to get Pride. The pair then tried to call Percy and Pride, and sent out the local police and marshals to them as back up as none of them were answering their phones.

Meanwhile, on the road, Pride, Percy and Maslow were ambushed.

After Pride discovered that Zed, who was there, had been behind everything, he instructed Percy to leave him and bring Maslow to safety, while he took care of Zed, whom he managed to shoot in the chest. This, however, just landed Zed in the hospital.

After doing a little more digging, they discovered that Maslow, who had had a tracking device on one of his shirt buttons, had helped plan the entire thing as his cell blockmates were friends with Zed, for a chance to escape.

After being confronted with this, Maslow decided to take Pride’s offer, and testified against Garza in exchange for the charges on the attempted murders of Pride and Percy being dropped.

Afterwards, Pride allowed Percy to go undercover with the DEA to bring her friend in, as she felt that that was the only way she could help her.

Later, in the hospital, a man dressed up as a doctor told Zed that it was now his turn to try to go after Pride and quoted their motto- “Sic Semper Tyrannis.”
