“NCIS” Season 11 Episode 17 “Rock and a Hard Place” aired on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS. Who was the bomb’s target? Read on to find out more about it including a brief recap of the last episode.
Previously “NCIS” (“Dressed to Kill” Season 11 Episode 16 air date: March 4, 2014), Tony’s father (Robert Wagner) was supposed to visit, but it was put on hold because Tony (Michael Weatherly) had to work and ended up shooting a Navy officer in self-defense. Abby (Pauley Perrette) found out that the man Tony had an encounter with was no Navy officer. He was identified as Nick Bodeen (Anthony Palermo), a private eye to the powerful and wealthy people. They wondered why he was impersonating a Navy officer. After examining Bodeen’s body, they found out that his hand had gunshot residue. This led the team to the hotel where the incident happened and found Michael Elliot, a staffer for U.S. Senator Denise O’Hara (Bess Armstrong), dead.
A Navy officer revealed that he was asked to meet Elliot to talk about the U.S. Navy ports of call in Asia’s military values. However, the crime scene postponed their meeting.
Bishop found out that O’Hara was focused on the bill that would order the closure of U.S. ports of call in Asia. They were able to connect the dots by figuring out that Bodeen was paid by a rich businessman from Macau who operates at several ports in Asia. They suspected that part of the money will serve as a bribe for O’Hara to close the ports.

“NCIS” Season 11 Episode 17 “Rock and a Hard Place” recap:
According to TV Fanatic, a bomb was discovered in the dressing room at a military charity concert. Unfortuntately, it went off and killed the auditorium’s head janitor as well as a Navy Petty Officer. The NCIS team tried to find out who was the target of the said bomb.
Gibbs figured out that Lucas Pischedda, one of the concert charity co-ordinators, was behind the bomb attack. It wasn’t targeted at Manheim Gold, the singer whom the NCIS team earlier thought to be the bomb’s target.
It was actually intended for the charity concert so that it will be moved to another location. Pischedda wanted to move the concert to a place where there are millions of dollars stashed underground. He was going to use the charity concert as a decoy and to mask the noise of the money digging operations. Gibbs and Bishop heard the digging and caught Lucas and his men red-handed. Of course, they got arrested.
As for Palmer, his birth mother went into labor. But, when she saw the baby she decided to keep it instead, which broke Palmer’s heart. He talked to Gibbs about it.
