Previously on “NCIS” (Honor Thy Father” Season 11 Finale Episode 24), it was a sad episode, seeing Gibbs (Jethro) attending the funeral of his father. It was made even more touching with the flashbacks. Vance (Rocky Carroll) called Jethro to inform him about his father’s death. It was hard on Vance’s part to deliver the terrible news, but he did. Jackson had a stroke.
Meanwhile, the team had an assignment, and Vance told Tony (Michael Weatherly) to keep it from Gibbs. It was nothing personal. Vance was concerned about Gibbs since his father just died. However, things got a little out of hand when Tony learned who was the person behind the prisoners’ escape plan. It was none other than Alejandro Rivera (Marco Sanchez). Tony could not keep the case from Gibbs any longer.
Now, let us get to the bottom of this. The team had a bar under surveillance, tracking a burglar. Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and McGee (Sean Murray) were inside. The team captured Levinson, the burglar. However, the case did not end there.
The USS Niagara had a fire accident, only it was not an accident. It was a ploy so the prisoners could escape. One of the prisoners was Mir. He was no ordinary prisoner. He had connections with Parsa and was good with disguise.
Where could all the money come from? A certain Leticia Gomez confessed what she knew about Rivera. She told them that Rivera used cartel money to provide for the prison break. The interesting part was everyone who managed to escape had only one order and that is to kill Gibbs.
Moreover, Abby (Pauley Perrette) managed to gather a hair strand in the raft that the prisoners used to escape. She confirmed that it was from Mir and that he would be coming up with a new face. She described what he would look like.
A flood from the basement welcomed Gibbs home. When he went down to fix it, he noticed live wires. Careful, Gibbs! Then, the lights went off. Before we know it, the man who tried to kill Gibbs was dead because he got electrocuted. At first, he was positive that the man was Mir, judging from Abby’s description. However, DNA results revealed that it was not Mir. Mir was still on the loose and could attack Gibbs. To make the long story short, Gibbs managed to take Mir down with Jackson’s truck and rifle.
