Viewers and fans were left reeling after NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) was shot twice by the young boy whom he was trying to help out, leaving fans to wonder as to the fate of the stalwart Gibbs.
In the recently released sneak peeks for the first episode of the season, “Stop the Bleeding,” on Spoiler TV, it was shown that the first episode of the season will pick up from where it left off. NCIS Special Agent Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo, Jr. (Michael Weatherly) and CIA Officer Joanna Teague (Mimi Rogers) wheeling Gibbs into the USS Daniel Webster where he was immediately prepared for surgery by the renowned Dr. Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer).
However, while being wheeled in, Gibbs once again saw his old mentor, Mike Franks. He began to wonder what had become of them, as Gibbs had allowed himself to put down his guard with young Luke Harris.
Meanwhile, back in Washington DC, NCIS Agent Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop (Emily Wickersham) informed Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) that the supreme justices that were being targeted by the terrorist organization called “The Calling” were currently safe. NCIS Special Agent Timothy “Tim” McGee (Sean Murray) broke the news to them regarding what had happened to Gibbs, and that their main suspect, the leader of the group, was still out there.
The third and final sneak peek that was released showed the entire team, sans Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum) staring at their phones as they waited for any news about Gibbs’ condition. Ducky, on the other hand, after looking up Dr. Cyril Taft, tried to reassure them that Gibbs was in the good doctor’s capable hands.
On a happier and lighter note, TV Line has begun to drop hints regarding the “NCIS: Los Angeles” episode in which Michael Weatherly will guest star in, and teased that the episode will be a lot of fun to watch, especially as at one point, Tony will be teamed up with Los Angeles Police Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen).
Also, on this note, many have been asking executive producer Gary Glassberg if Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) will returning, at least for a guest stint for an episode. Weatherly has been teasing several upcoming guest appearances that will delight every “NCIS” fan.
However, according to TV Line, Glassberg neither confirmed or denied anything, but did say that they will be having some very interesting guest stars, who are still in talks to appear on the show.
