“Black Mirror,” the Charlie Brooker’s anthology series, which was previously aired on Channel 4, has now been taken by Netflix. It has been revealed that 12 new episodes of the series will be aired by the video on demand service, Netflix,
According to Variety, Netflix, by announcing the telecast of 12 new episodes, has put down the rumors which were making rounds since long. As we all know that the episodes in the series dealt with the modern society and specially the consequences of new technology, so, this ideology will remain same for the upcoming episodes too. And Zeppotron for Endemol will see the production part as they were doing previously and if we talk about the content of the upcoming episodes, then Brooker has already started working on it.
The series was started in 2011 with three episodes and in one of them, an imaginary prime minister was showed having sex with a pig. In 2013, three more episodes were shown by Channel 4 and the last episode in the chain of 7 was shown in 2014.
Booker, in his excitement, said that the thought of 12 new episodes of “Black Mirror” coming live on the most authentic platform is a very thrilling thing. He further said, “Netflix connects us with a global audience so that we can create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories than before, whilst maintaining that “Black Mirror” feel. I just hope none of these new story ideas come true,” revealed Variety.
Cindy Holland, the vice president of Netflix, praised Brooker for creating a different and one-of-a-kind mysteriously dark series like “Black Mirror,” and Holland further admitted being very proud of bringing it again for the viewers under Netflix tag.
The production for the new episodes will start from this year only but the date related to the series or the episodes’ premiere has not been revealed yet. And as usual, we will witness different cast members in every episode like we did in the past.
