Looks like the next movie in Matt Damon’s reason of fame, the Bourne series is going to get wither too fast or too furious. Well, maybe not literally but Universal Studios sure found the need of hiring Fast & Furious director Justin Lin to manage the next franchise’s director role.
This has come out through The Warp who have reported on authority of “an individual with knowledge of the deal” without specifying the source of their information.
Lin has directed the last four movies in the Fast 7 Furious franchise, all for Universal Studios of course and probably that is the reason why the folks at Universal know him enough to trust him with the new Bourne movie. Or maybe it is because Fast & Furious 6 was the highest grossing film of the year?
The last film in the series, The Bourne Legacy was directed by Tony Gilroy and was the first movie to star Jeremy Renner as agent Aaron Cross. The report goes further stating that Renner will once again feature in the movie for the same role.
The Bourne Legacy had grossed $276 million which was in line with the first two movies in the series, the third though has performed the best so far, grossing $442 million. Well, those are going to be just the things form the past, we shall have to wait for the time when Justin Lin does his magic and we find out what he is capable of when a movie is not Fast & Furious.
