St. Louis Rams’ Jared Cook, San Francisco 49ers’ Vernon Davis, and Chicago Bears’ Matt Forte could be the potential targets for the teams, as the NFL trade deadline is heading up. Read on for further details.
According to CBS Sports, the teams such as Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, and Oakland Raiders could make a trade deal with the tight end players – Jared Cook of the St. Louis Rams and Vernon Davis of San Francisco 49ers.
Both the players have been getting much interest from the teams as the “tight end market is heating up.” Reports also revealed that both Rams and 49ers are ready for the deal with the players.
Davis is in the last year of his contract and that makes him a target at the deadline, while Cook has two years left on his deal, but no guaranteed money, and that could make him more appealing.
Based on a report from Pro Football Talk, Cook has signed a five-year, $35.1 million contract, with the Rams as a free agent, and has two years left on his deal, while, Davis has signed a six-year, $42.7 million, deal with the 49ers, and is in the final year of his contract. Cook proved to be a solid player while Davis’ showed a drop in his performance in the past two years. But, Davis still seems to be a dominant tight end.
The Rams prefers the potential of Lance Kendricks more than that of Cook, and hence, the team is willing to trade him. Moreover, the Chicago Bears are eager to trade their running back player Matt Forte for a high price.
According to SWR, NFL rumors suggested that the teams like Cardinals, Colts, Raiders, Jets, and Packers are interested in trading Jared Cook of the Rams, and Vernon Davis of the 49ers.
