The recent reports on suggested that the New England Patriots have interest in Tennessee Titans’ Cornerback Jason McCourty. Read on for more details.
“A fun one to watch: #Patriots have interest in #Titans CB Jason McCourty to pair him with his twin, Devin. Alas, deal not expected right now,” tweeted Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 3, 2015
McCourty has signed a pretty friendly deal with the Titans. He has shown good performance last year, and he is indeed the best defensive back for the team. The Cornerback has been not well for most of this year.
Based on a report from MASS LIVE, McCourty has played four games in 2015. He recorded 15 tackles, and 11 interceptions in his seven seasons that he has played from 2009 to 2015. He was unlucky to show good performance after his groin surgery.
NFL Trade Rumors.co reported that the 28-year-old pass defense is in the fourth year of his $44.26 million six-year contract with the Titans.
Rapoport reported earlier that several teams including the Patriots are interested in trading McCourty. The source further added that Devin, McCourty’s brother, plays for the Patriots.
So, will the Titans trade McCourty to the Patriots? Will the McCourty twins be reunited? It seems that McCourty trade would not happen at present, as Rapoport has also given a clue that the “deal not expected right now” in his tweet.
If the Titans considers trading Jason McCourty to the Patriots, they must expect at least a first round pick in exchange. However, it seems that the Patriots would not be ready to give up their first round pick in exchange for McCourty. Moreover, it is rather difficult to win the Patriots in NFL trade.
