According to an exclusive interview with Collider, Samuel L. Jackson, who has appeared in almost all of the MARVEL Cinematic Universe movies since “Iron Man” in 2008, will not be appearing in “Captain America: Civil War.” According to his interview with IGN, Jackson told them that he was “surprised” upon learning this from the Russo brothers, who are directing the movie.
Jackson stated in his interview with Collider that he doesn’t know yet the particular reason why Fury isn’t in the movie. He reminded them that he is still yet to appear in two more MARVEL movies, as per his original agreement, as he had signed on a nine movie deal. However, he doesn’t know yet which two other movies he will be appearing in.
However, even if his contract is almost over, the actor, who is honored to portraying a character that was originally white in the comic books, according to his interview, is looking to extend his contract with the MARVEL Cinematic Universe. It might just be needed given the fact that new heroes might surface to join the MARVEL Cinematic Universe, and will need an anchor, or a character present that connects everyone together over the years and movies.
