Nicole Kidman Out From Superhero Movie, ‘Wonder Woman’; Powerful Role Goes To Another Actress?

“Wonder Woman” is the first woman centric, superhero movie, which has garnered huge popularity in no time. It has been learnt that Nicole Kidman would not be part of “Wonder Woman” and another popular actress would play her role.

The comic character, Wonder Woman would be first seen in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice”, reports CinemaBlend. The role of this mighty woman in the movie would be played by Gal Gadot, 30. For Wonder Woman comics book fans there is one more good news that she would have her own solo movie in year 2017. It has been reported that Kidman, 48 was expected to be part of the film but something like this might not take place.

If Kidman would have stayed in the movie, it would have been her second opportunity to work in DC property’s adaptation. In year 1995, Kidman has starred opposite Val Kilmer in “Batman Forever”. The reason for Kidman’s leaving the movie, “Wonder Woman” was learnt when film reporter Justin Kroll’s tweet came. He has said in the tweet that owing to schedule problems, the actress would not do the movie. He has also divulged that Robin Wright, 49 might join to take her place in the Patty Jenkins-directed movie.

According to Batman News, Nicole Kidman was supposed to act in the movie in the role of Hippolyta. The character is originally portrayed in comic books as queen of the Amazons. She is also the mother of Wonder Woman. There is no confirmed news yet whether Wright has said yes to the role of Hippolyta. The speculations are that Wright had signed for other role in the same movie but when Kidman left, she became the topmost contender for the role of Hippolyta.

Knoll has also tweeted on 19 December, “In fact Wright’s deal for her unknown role had closed before Kidman even had an offer, so we’ll just have to see what ends up happening.”

Fans are really excited about “Wonder Woman” as it is the first superhero movie and which would be led by a female character. Children and adults have seen her in comic books from time immemorial. The first look of the Wonder Woman fighting and maneuvering revealed in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice”. The movie would be released on March 25, 2016. “Wonder Women” would hit the theaters on June 23, 2017.
