The Nitro Circus bunch is proud of their mental deficiency. They would say that the stunt they are about to do is stupid and yet they go through with it. Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D features flipping a race car and pedaling a tricycle off the roof of a high rise building. They are trained professionals and they do know what they’re doing no matter how stupid they might look.
Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D is an infomercial for the group’s live touring show. It is directed and coproduced by Gregg Godfrey and Jeremy Rawle. The whole movie consists of ten minutes of stunts and 70 minutes of replays.
To add to the tediousness of the movie, the personalities involved in it are one dimensional and it feels like they’re not fun to hang out with. They try hard to be as cool as the Jackass gang but none of them can be compared to Jonny Knoxville, who makes an appearance in Nitro Circus, and Steve-O.
Nitro Circus Travis Pastrana is a one trick pony. He just straps someone into a vehicle, gives a thumbs up sign towards the camera, comes back after the stunt is a failure, and comes back to show them how it is done. You’ll feel bad for Pastrana’s friends, who suffer real injuries after doing the bungled stunts.
The saving grace of Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D is Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, who is an extreme wheelchair athlete. He jumps a 50 foot ramp, which is the highlight of the movie.
Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D features Travis Pastrana, Tommy Passemante, and Aaron Fotheringham. It is directed by Gregg Godfrey and Jeremy Rawle with the screenplay written by Pastrana, Godfrey and Rawle. It is rated PG 13 for depiction of extreme and dangerous stunts and for language.
