“Once Upon A Time” is gearing for its 100th episode for March 2016. With it expected to be a huge television event, fans of the fairytale drama are looking forward to seeing some old characters coming back and shaking things up. Perhaps two of the most anticipated return are those of the Huntsman and Mad Hatter.

Storybrooke had been host to a lot of known fairytale characters. And once upon a time, the Huntsman from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves” and the Mad Hatter from “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” graced ABC’s “Once Upon A Time.” But any follower of the show knows that the Huntsman died after Regina (Lana Parrilla) crushed his heart and the Hatter had been unheard of since season one.

Since the two have obviously made an impression on “Once Upon A Time,” the Huntsman being a one-time lover of both evil Regina and Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) and the Hatter being delightfully devious like in the book, it is natural for fans to see them again. Another reason for fans wanting them back is that the actors who play them have already rocketed into huge popularity status.

Jamie Dornan, who lent his talent to the role of the Huntsman, is now known to many as the Christian Grey of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film adaptation. On the other hand, Sebastian Stan, who played Jefferson a.k.a. Hatter, is known to movie fans now as Bucky Barnes from the Captain America film franchise.

So will the show bring these two sought-after actors? It’s going to be hard to do so.

“You know, I would not hold your breathe for either of those characters. Unfortunately, those two [actors] are very hard to pin down,” Edward Kitsis told Entertainment Tonight.

Definitely not what the fans want to hear but also very honest. Some shows might have teased a return even if it’s impossible, just to hype the show.

But even without the two impressive characters, the 100th episode, which is titled “Souls of the Departed,” is sure to have some surprises up its sleeves. Barbara Hershey, Emma Caulfield, Giancarlo Esposito, and Robbie Kay are all reprising their roles as Cora, Blind Witch, Magic Mirror, and Peter Pan respectively.

Watch the events that will lead to this epic 100th episode as “Once Upon A Time” airs new episodes on ABC every Sunday night, 8 p.m.
