Do you remember the 1995 film “Now and Then”? It’s definitely a classic! Well, we have some good news for you about it. There could be a “Now and Then” TV series coming up!

Talks about a sequel of “Now and Then” have been going around for quite a while now, and good thing it is a possibility. What made things so much better is that we will finally see it on TV. Yes, you read that right.

Marlene King, the writer of the well-loved movie released in 1995, opened up about her plans of adapting the movie into a TV series in 2012, and this made fans anticipate for more details about this. King is now the “Pretty Little Liars” showrunner. Recently at the Reddit AMA, she revealed that there is still hope to launch a “Now and Then” TV series. Such amazing news this is!

“We’re talking about it. We’re talking about ‘Now and Then’ the TV series. ABC family has shown a little bit of interest in that, so we’re still talking about that. People tweet about this to me all the time, they’ll even send me photos of themselves watching the movie on a Sunday afternoon,” said King in the Reddit AMA article.

“Now and Then” was set in the ‘70s and ‘90s, and it focused on the lives of four best friends that are all dealing with such heavy issues in their lives—divorce, death, the Wormers (Devon Sawa)—at an early age. Samantha (Gaby Hoffman and Demi Moore), Roberta (Christina Ricci and Rosie O’ Donnell), Teeny (Thora Birch and Melanie Griffith) and Chrissy (Ashleigh Aston Moore/Rita Wilson) were the four main characters of the film. We’ve seen how their friendship evolved until they grow old, and they have managed to still keep it intact despite their different lives.

King also revealed her vision for the series in an interview with MTV’s Hollywood Crush.

“It’s definitely the same characters, but it won’t be the same time period. It will be like adults were 40 now and the girls were teenagers. We;’’ probably pick it up when the girls are 16, but it will be in the 1980s as opposed to the ‘70s because that’s sort of the ‘then’ of our current ‘now’,” stated King in MTV’s Hollywood Crush report.
