The 2015 New York Comic Con was recently concluded over the weekend and with that being said, Robin Lopez from the Knicks did not let the opportunity pass to be able to have his share of the festivities. Read on to know more about the starting center’s NYCC shenanigans.

According to Fox Sports, Lopez is a serious comics aficionado, as well as his brother Brook. Obviously, they attended the event and showed up in true cosplay style.

Yes, that’s RoLo dressed up as Doc Emmet Brown from “Back to the Future”.

Who knew he could likewise be so in his element, donning a pop culture costume, as he is in the basketball court? Lopez has really proven how widespread pop culture can be, even in professional basketball. via (Sporting News)

Lopez immortalized the moment as he posted a picture on Instagram, captioning it: “Guess who ended up popping up in the time stream at the same time?? Great seeing my fave artist @toddnauck at #NYCCC #DocWho? #DocBrown! #BackToTheFuture #DrWho”

With For The Win USA Today calling RoLo as the “world’s tallest Dr. Emmett Brown”, for sure he was more than satisfied with the turnout, although he didn’t change his hair color to white or gray for the full effect. It’s still okay; as there is no doubt that he truly resembles the Doc. You be the judge:

The New York Comic Con is the largest and most thrilling popular culture convention in the East Coast. It showcases the newest, not to mention the most supreme in comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television. Panels and autograph sessions are also held to give fans an avenue to rub elbows with their favorite creators. The event also features sneak peeks of movies and TV shows, even before they debut on either the big or small screens.

The NYCC is the next biggest pop culture convention in America and the only one that is held in the comic book, publishing, media, and licensing capital of the world: Gotham City.
