Belle took us down to memory lane while we learned the true motive of the snow queen. In the latest episode of “Once Upon a Time” Season 4, Episode 6 “Family Business,” family seemed to have a different meaning to the Snow Queen, and she’s determined to get what she wants. Read on for the full recap.
Belle was having problems trying to remember what happened to her mother. She took us to a flashback, and we learned about her childhood. We’ve found out that she and her mother had a great relationship until the Ogre Wars happened, and everything crumbled. Belle was with her mother until she got knocked out. When she woke up, she was surprised to be greeted by her mother… in a coffin. She couldn’t remember what happened, and she’s determined to unravel that memory on how her mother died.
She decided to go on a trip to Arendelle to visit the rock trolls because they are the only ones who could give her the power to retrieve her memories. She met Anna along the way when she stopped by the Oaken’s trading post. Anna was on a mission to know the Snow Queen’s true motive because she’s not entirely convinced on who she say she is. With similar missions to pursue, the two became friends immediately, and they set off to Grand Pabbie.
Grand Pabbie gave Belle the Magic Thought Rock that can help her retrieve her memories while he revealed to Anna that what the Snow Queen said was right — she is indeed the sister of her mother, and her mother really has two sisters. She didn’t know about this because the two sisters disappeared mysteriously, and they decided to not let people know of what happened. So they asked the trolls to erase the memories of Helga and Ingrid.
Ingrid was not happy with this, and she’s determined to get her sisters back — in a different way, though, because she couldn’t bring back Anna and Elsa’s mother anymore, and Helga was nowhere to be found. Just when the two were about to go back, a storm hit, and Anna figured out right away that that was Ingrid’s work. She got knocked off by the strong wind brought by the storm as well as Belle’s rock. Belle quickly retrieved it, but Anna was hanging on the side of the cliff. She ran as fast as she can to get to Anna, but she was too late because Anna fell.
Obviously, she didn’t die. However, she fell into the hands of Ingrid, and she imprisoned her. With this memory in mind, Belle felt guilty, and she wanted to set things right for Anna and Elsa. She decided to go on another journey and look for the sorcere’s hat that could absorb Ingrid’s magic and save the two sisters. What she didn’t know is that her Beast, Rumple, has the sorcerer’s hat all along. But of couse, she can’t tell Belle about that. Well, it’s not only Belle who’s keeping secrets here.
Belle asked Rumple to take her to Ingrid’s ice cave. When they got there, she was greeted by the magic mirror. She looked at it, and the magic mirror showed her guilt and her insecurities. Its power is to bring out the worst in people who stares at it. It even blurted out that the dagger Rumple gave her isn’t real at all, but before things got out of hand, Rumple dragged Belle away from the mirror.
Rumple told Belle not to believe the mirror, and that’s when Belle broke down and confessed her secret. To make matters worse, Belle expressed her appreciation towards him because he’s not keeping secrets from her.
Feeling guilty, Rumple went to Ingrid to threaten her, and Ingrid’s plan is finally revealed. She wanted her sisters back, and she will make Elsa her sister and Emma instead of Anna because she betrayed her trust. She read a prophecy that the savior would be her sister, and she’s trying to fulfill it. Once she does, she’s going to cast the Spell of Shattered Sight to make the people of Storybrooke turn against each other — evil plan indeed.
